The direct agents of the Watcher in the mortal realm. Where the [[cysgoroesi]] watched over shadow itself, the scythes were hunters of those that fell through the cracks of the First Law. They specialized in hunting down immortality seekers, lost souls, and others who should have died but hadn't. They are accompanied by a bonded psychopomp cat. The cats form a network via means not specified. Each scythe has an individual sigil and leaves a calling card (individually designed) at the site of any gleaning effort.

==Qualifications==
* The candidate must not have any conflicting loyalties. Scythes are the ultimate in free agents, responsible only to the Watcher.
* The candidate must not be seeking for power.
* The candidate must discover their existence and role themselves, they can't be actively recruited. Someone can guide them, but they have to take those steps themselves.
* The candidate must have been chosen by the Watcher, either personally or bloodline.
