Two rings of mountains were thrown up by [[Moon's Fall]]. The [[Inner Barrier Range]] encircles the area now known as the [[Moon Sea]], while surrounding it on the north and east is the [[Outer Barrier Range]].

Much more worn than the inner range, the outer range is divided into several areas. The area north-west of [[Moon's Fall Vengeance]], bordering the [[Moon's Vengeance Foothills]] to the south and holding the [[Uulan Confederacy]], is the area most frequently referred to as the Outer Barrier Range, while to the east is the [[Ladyfrost Mountains]]; further east and south are the [[Wyrmspite]] and [[Wyrmhaven]] ranges.
 
The highest peaks of the OBR proper are around 12,000 ft. The north side is green and wooded, while the south side is broken badlands.
