A large, shallow, warm-water bay stretching between Byssia and the southern Lost Coast. Dotted with islands of various sizes, it's home to many groups of people (both above and below the waves) who belong to none of the larger nations. The only major feature is the Island of Beasts, a mountainous island said to be inhabited by all manner of ferocious creatures and sacred to Lae Loara.

Gap-tooth Bay ca 250 AC

Locations

  • The only nation confirmed (as of 250 AC) to border the bay is Byssia to the north.
  • The Isle of Beasts is the large island in the south-central portion of the bay. Rising several thousand feet above the waterline, the mountain there is said to be inhabited by fantastic beasts.
  • The Veldt is the sparsely-inhabited region between Byssia and the Auringon territory. Rolling plains, with a few bits of settlers both human and ihmisi.
  • The Westerly Islands are a large group of islands of various sizes located SE of the Veldt. Inhabited by outsider-distrusting native groups who worship the sea and the spirits.
  • The Green Line is a band of sea vegetation that blocks most of the access to the Primal Sea. Scattered among the clinging vegetation are sharp rocks and reefs, making passage nearly impossible.
  • The Teeth are a group of reefs and sharp rocks that close the eastern side of the passage. They're known to shift and move, almost as if controlled by a malign will.
  • Southmount is the low mountains that form the border between Byssia and the Bloodthirst. Home of primal spirits of rock and earth, still annoyed by the (now 45 year gone) presence of the Twisted's corruption in the wildlands
  • Beyond the dotted line is Terra Incognita. None of the inhabitants of the Federated Nations know more than rumors about what lies there, at least until you get far enough east to reach the waters owned by the Serpent Dominion.
  • Pearl Islands. A group of islands known for producing the best pearls. Not part of Byssia, but trade via #3.

Numbered Locations

  1. Farport. The blue-water port, last port of call of Byssian territory to the SE. Known for being a surly, independent lot.
  2. Spice Islands
  3. Home Islands. Part of Byssia, fishermen mostly.
  4. The Claw.
  5. Pirate lands? There are pirates, to be sure. But no one knows where the port is.
  6. Freeport. A brand new port, attempting to open up the wildlands. Not formally part of Byssia. Owned by a trade faction. Very small.
