The full campaign of the Heroes Foretold, where they opened up lost Auringon and completed the Tale of Ages. Time: summer 250 AC.

Events

The party was hired by Dashingwell to accompany a delegation heading to a new nation to the west of Byssia on the Lost Coast, which had very recently made contact.

  1. Along the way, they encountered refugees and raiders from the south, fleeing the Tlalocana. Some were demon-influenced.
  2. Entering into Auringon, they found themselves enmeshed in the Tale, which turned the place into a fairy-tale kingdom of knights and nobles...with a dark heart.
  3. They encountered treachery at the hands of one of the Dukes, but overcame it. They found that he had been poisoning the king to influence the Tale and manipulate the heir.
  4. They also found the situation becoming more dire as Meztlan refugees from the Drowned Coast were pressing in.
  5. Braving the test of the Elder Library with the help of the book-obsessed brass dragon Katie, they found that an ancient Tome of stories, now a semi-sentient artifact, had been contracted to preserve the people. This was imposing the Tale on them.
  6. They became the Heroes Foretold in this tale, ending it and closing the Tome.

Aftermath

  • Thel settled down at the Library with Katie to do research.
  • Reginald married into one of the noble houses of Auringon and is now a duke.
  • Morlan replaced the former high priest of Roel Kor and is heading up the efforts to integrate the Meztlan refugees and prepare for the upcoming expected invasion by Tlalocana.
  • The remainder are floating around and haven't made their names known recently.
  • Auringon is (as of 252 AC) formally a junior member of the Federated Nations.
