The majority of the lands abandoned by the Holy Kaelthian Republic after the New Year's War have not coalesced into organized governments. Each village and town stands alone against the threats, making its own decisions. These are the Ungoverned Lands.
Significant Settlements
Alford -- probably the largest settlement at ~800 people. On the main road between Kaelthia and Rauviz City.
Glass Junction -- has the only ferry over the Kaela River, controlling one of two real ways to reach the Lower Sea of Grass.
Redhawk Village -- the southwest corner of the great loop of villages on the Lower Sea of Grass.
Torpen Hill -- the central-southern access point to the Great Loop from the Lowbridge-Shield Ferry. Recently freed from a plague of hags.
Meadowbranch -- The southeast corner of the Great Loop, closest to the North Fork of the Shield River and the Uulan Confederacy.
