A group of disaffected former guild leaders and other notables who lost power with the end of the Council System. Under Darvin Fallowfield and his son Daelin Fallowfield, the Committee had two arms.
The Committee
The Committee proper was the public arm of the organization. It advocated for a return to the guild system and for solidarity between people within the same profession. Its motto was "Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, the guilds will prevail."
The Realigners
The real meat of the organization was the underground violent wing. They staged violent protests, attacked and stole from opponents, and generally disrupted the efforts of the new nation to unify. Their purpose was to cause chaos so that the people would see the need for the order represented by the guilds.
It was members of the Realigners who, acting at the instigation of Sheaf-binder, the high priest of Loran Hae, acted to assassinate the Immortal Bard and kicked off the Guildmasters rebellion of 227 AC. In the aftermath, the members of the Committee were banned from public life and any Realigner caught was executed.
