Echidra

Known as the Mother of Monsters, Echidra was a pre-Dawn War wyrm who was altered by the Nameless into a living, eternal weapon. This transformation was not of her own will, but she and her children wreaked havoc during that age-old conflict. After the war, she and three of her brood were imprisoned on Aenimos by the Powers on the testimony of her fourth child, the being now known as the Twisted.

Her aspect is Creation; bringing all things into existence.

Shape

In her Mortal-plane form, Echidra is a multi-headed dragon-hydra hybrid, without wings. She has 7 heads, of which the central is the primary. She stands more than 40' tall at the shoulders and approximately 100' long if she stretches out.

Children

She had four major children, one for each element.

• Anzu, Stormbringer, is a tremendous roc with mile-wide wings. He represents air, freedom, and change.
• Behemoth, Devourer, is a lizard-like creature with destructive breath and enormous regeneration powers. And unquenchable hunger. He was the only one not freed, as his only desire is to destroy and consume. Represents fire, destruction, and hunger.
• The Twisted, Demon Prince and traitor. This mega-kraken betrayed the others, allowing their capture. Also slandered them as ravening monsters, leading to their imprisonment. Later became one of the Demon Princes. Represented water, patience, and memory.
• Zhigor, Lifebringer, is a gigantic turtle/lizard hybrid with a shell more than a mile across and bearing a small forest. Mostly sleeps, but his presence grants fertility and life to everything around it. Responsible for several new species, including an intelligent one. Represents earth, stability, and life.
