Vijil Oriak

A human paladin of the Order of the Watchers, part of Nameless Soefra Party.

Joined the coastal defense militia/guard once out of school at 18. Spent a few years doing the usual on ships, islands, occasional skirmishes with smugglers and monsters.  Became a scout/spy due to a certain natural talent for it.  Came up river and met old friends from school based on a recommendation to my superiors by my mentor, Nestorious ...

Personality

I would rather make a new friend than a new enemy. I now always have a plan for what to do when things go wrong.

Ideals: People. I’m loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care.

Bonds: Someone I loved died because of a mistake I made - I trusted a fool. That will never happen again.

Flaw: I sat silent while someone was tried and imprisoned for something I know he did not do. My silence was my form of payback for the decision they made that got a friend  of ours killed, and me badly injured, during a scouting  mission...even though I also made a judgment error, I blamed him.

Oath Tenets

Paladins who take the Oath of the Watchers swears to safeguard mortal realms from otherworldly threats.

Vigilance. The threats you face are cunning, powerful, and subversive. Be ever alert for their corruption.

Loyalty. Never accept gifts or favors from fiends or those who truck with them. Stay true to your order, your comrades, and your duty.

Discipline. You are the shield against the endless terrors that lie beyond the stars. Your blade must be forever sharp and your mind keen to survive what lies beyond.
