A large volcanic island located north of Kotimaa. It rose out of the depths after the Cataclysm, although there is evidence (from ruins dotting the land) that it either had previously been on the surface or had been inhabited by sea-folk who were very building-happy (unlike most).

Very little is known about the island other than it is dominated by a single giant active volcano and is awash with a surfeit of fire-aspected aether.

A research expedition assisted by Ad Elementis in 252 AC discovered that the island is inhabited by two groups: a scattered tribal human civilization of post-cataclysm refugees, and more recently, dissident Khaimal dwarves from Hammerhead. The dwarves have enslaved most of the tribal population in service of the Cult of Burning Law. The capital of this civilization is Lavalin, a town at the foot of the volcano on the north side. Less techno-magical than the Hammerhead khaimal, they still craft and work metal and stone. Extremely austere and focused on efficiency and utility, life here is unpleasant but safe.
