The final reigning dynasty of Tibor Imperia, the great Western Empire of Noefra. Notable for spending money, not making it. They reigned from roughly 1000 BC to 800 BC, when the explosive start of the War of Souls put an end to Imperial Center, the imperial family, and the unity of the Imperium.

Emperors

  • Sorvan Aurum. First and least competent, but also least disliked of the dynasty. Installed through assassination and rampant corruption. Mostly a figurehead. Ruled from 998 BC to 960 BC. Died of natural causes...if natural means homoerotic asphyxiation...
  • Primus Aurum. Aurelius's nephew. Known primarily for the break-off of the Fanged Kingdom in 958 BC. Otherwise notable for not being notable. Died in 953 AC of acute gastritis.
  • Serana Aurum. Primus's younger sister. Tried to bring the empire back to the glory days by sheer might. Killed by her guard in 950 AC after she ordered the execution of all pigs, because pigs make people fat and fat people can't be good soldiers.
  • Aran Aurum. Most competent of the dynasty. Also most disliked. Not strictly related to his predecessors, Aran was adopted from a wealthy family (mostly to pay debts incurred under Primus and Serana). Unlike his predecessors, he was abstemious in the extreme, living a hermit-like lifestyle and enforcing it on the rest of his court. The tax rates, however, went way up. And the expensive things like the patrols on the trade routes were discontinued in a cost-saving measure. Actually got the empire back on a stable financial foundation...mostly. Actually reigned until 910 AC, when he died of sepsis because he refused medical attention after getting a bad hangnail.
  • Tiberius Aurum. Back to the main line. Devoted his (actually pretty long) reign to as much debauchery as possible. Died at age 90 in 863 BC of exhaustion after carousing with his 6th woman that night and imbibing significant quantities of stimulants. The flesh, as they say, was spongy and weak.
  • Aerela Aurum. The second empress, Tiberius's daughter. Notable for being heavily under the sway of Grand Sapientum Iorda. Died after 10 years on the throne in 853 BC. Circumstances of her death are uncertain, but probably not of natural causes.
  • Claudius Aurum. Aerela's son. Tried to be a good emperor, but was very weak. Died 6 years later in 847 BC, having spent most of that time as a figurehead for a rotating set of factions.
  • Cryseum Aurum, aka Aurum XVI (he liked that number, despite only being the 9th member of this ill-fated dynasty). Son of Claudius. Last of the Aurum and last emperor of Tibor Imperia. Took after his great grandfather, leaving all the real business to the mage-run cabal under Grand Sapientum Iorda and his fellows. Instead he focused on collecting the ultimate harem, picking exotic girls from all the peoples of the empire and beyond. Died at age 61 in 800 AC in the destruction of Imperial Center during his wedding ceremony to his 12th (concurrent, 24th total) wife, a 10-year-old half-orc girl kidnapped from her tribe.
