The Outsider

(Original version by Ian Hunter: [1])

Death be my patron, blade by my wife
Breath is my witness, the road is my life
Must keep my long sword, as sharp as a knife
Never know who wants to play

Cat’s in my shadow, wind's in my hair
Demons confront me, blood everywhere
Searching for hist’ry as I breathe sweet air
Seeking takes up all my days

When my foes fall down,
I am shadow bound
Mem’ry haunts, the Outsider
When the trail goes old
As the sun grows cold
No one holds, the Outsider

Once killed a dragon
In a void filled with stars
Rescued a princess
A heart bears the scars
Uncontrolled shaking
Then earthward I fell
A mountain fell up to the ground

Seems like I’ll never
reach my true home
Fated to battle,
doomed e’er to roam
The twisted, the slavers
No rest for the bold
The Dead Walkers' fetters unbound

When my foes fall down,
I am shadow bound
Mem’ry haunts, the Outsider
When the trail goes old
As the sun grows cold
No one holds, the Outsider

The Outsider!

The Outsider!
