The even that ended the Second Age and shattered the aelvar empire. Druids, working under the influence of the Awakener, cajoled the Third Moon into leaving its orbit and coming crashing down onto the aelvar capital. The resulting devastation carved out mountain ranges and trenches in a huge circle around it, which still exist to this day.
