Nyx Astra

A younger (late 20s) halfling woman, originally Nyxianalara-lee Rumptwist (of the Bradavon Rumptwists). Fed up with her family (the Bradavon Rumptwists are a hippy-dippy, who-needs-money-we-have-love clan eaking out a cruddy living selling flowers) and with her name (can't really blame her), she joined a mercenary company at age 14. Starting off as a cook, she quickly gained prominence for her fearless assaults with improvised weaponry against raiding giant-kin in the Eastmountain duchy. Returning to Bradavon at age 20, a seasoned veteran, she sought the favor of Duke Farthingale and was adopted into the clan, where she's eventually risen to the position of Duke's heir. With no noble house of her own and many rivals within her adopted clan, she's had to work very hard to keep her position. The recent loss of her trophy husband Tsun Azur and her son Tson Azur to what is being claimed as abduction (although they really ran away from her brutal treatment) has weakened her position greatly.
