Bloodstorm
Bloodstorm was Gromach's prized axe while he was alive. In his transformation into the Red Fang, Gromach threw it into the throne at the keep on Mt. Fearg and left a portion of his soul (accidentally) in the axe. This transformed it from a magical axe of no particular rarity into an artifact-caliber weapon, possessed of his grief, hatred (for the ones that slew his sister Serak as well as most living things), and nihilism, as well as most of his memories. It lay in slumber there for millennia, lacking a wielder.
When Torvald'vel'Orobas and his son Azhtar Caivalur entered the fortress in search of Awakener traces in ~220 AC, the demonic axe awakened (causing them to flee its wrath). Stretching forth its power in the wasteland that the area had become, it found like souls in the Dead Walkers. Manifesting a fragment of itself in front of likely candidates, it possessed them, transforming them into pale echoes of Gromach in his (mortal) prime. It used these leaders to gather armies; among which were the forces that nearly destroyed the Dugai.
Enigma confronted the axe in its stronghold, battled through its illusions and "history lessons" and somehow evoked a fragment of Serak's memory also embedded in the throne room where she was slaughtered by the First Heroes. Together, they banished an avatar of the Red Fang and shattered the axe, removing its malign influence forever and weakening the Red Fang.
