Freeport

A small settlement on the western edge of the Blood-thirst Wildlands. Founded by the Freeport Company in 249 AC, it hopes to become a gateway for settlement and exploration of the wildlands.

Not technically part of Byssia, the Company acts as the government, in conjunction with a mayor chosen from the settled folk. It's only current trade routes are with Byssia proper, so its independence is notional unless another route can be found. Currently Byssia has no interest in administering it, although that might change if the port is developed or becomes a threat to their interests.

Population

Roughly 200 individuals, about half of which are farmers and the rest are either dock workers or would-be adventurers.
