Merais

Merais is the name of both a nation and a city. This article describes the nation.

Location

To the east of Ikela, bordered on the east itself by the mountains inhabited by Clan Sunud and on the south by the Ikelan Colony Lands.

Cities

• Merais City is the capital, located in the shallow waters of the bay. A mix of kalasaa, ika-ika, and mkhulu.
• Fatehpur is the other major city, located near the shore in the central region of the nation. It is known for its friendliness toward arcane magic, something distrusted in Ikela. Practitioners from Ikela often move to Fatehpur due to persecution.

Government

Merais is ruled by a coalition of mkhulu adepts, although they do not practice the abhorrent behaviors of many of their cousins. Overall, Merais is a magic-centered technocracy. The Coalition of Adepts confers with the heads of various magical organizations as well as merchant leaders.

Politics

Merais is neutral ground. It does not interfere or wish to expand, but will resist interference with overwhelming force.
