Kor Abantu

The nation of Kor Abantu ("Chosen People" in an obscure dialect) occupies the broken seas and islands north of the Jinse Empire along the eastern coast of Noefra. After the Cataclysm when the Empire retreated from most of those lands, the Abantu were fishers and hardy folks living on the furthest island and many scattered nations occupied the area. Since the ascension of Kor I to the "throne" in 153 AC, the Abantu have spread aggressively and conquered almost all of the islands and even as far as the lands directly south of the Northern Badlands. The unity government fell apart about 20 years ago--it's now a collection of pirate chiefs, tribes, and clans. They stand united for one and only one thing--no outside force will shift them or take their waters.

Slavers, pirates, traders. The Abantu raid, pillage, extort, and yes, trade, as far north as Nirda and as far south and west as Bel's Kush. They are the dominant maritime force of the eastern continent. Where they interact with the Ship Folk, they tend to clash but not war.
