Allsong
You've heard of oral history? Well, this takes the proverbial cake. --The Immortal Bard, recorded in "Drunken Sayings of Drunken Men".
The Allsong is the name scholars give to the endless discourse Leviathan has with itself across its myriad bodies in the depths of the oceans of Quartus. It is rumored to be, in essence, the truth of Leviathan's thoughts and memories, the sum-total of its knowledge, in the form of deeply-layered music. Even the lesser noises of storms, earthquakes, and the languages of mortal sea-dwellers, plus their birth cries and death groans form tiny elements of this all-encompassing symphony. And in that music is power--the power to change lesser life and to shape it to its needs, to kill and to give life.
Some bards have traced the origins of their musical magic to the Allsong. Druids have tried to take shapes more suited to listen--they quickly learn to tune it out because attempting to comprehend even the slightest piece has driven many of them completely mad; they lose themselves and become nothing more than elements of Leviathan. The Twisted and his minions have a perpetual goal of corrupting the Allsong, believing that by doing so they would change the things being sung about...possibly retroactively. But this is just mad speculation of a demented mind...
