Running from the mountains north of Baile Craan and swallowing the Westwalk River and the Eastwalk River near Bradavon and falling into the Kaela River near Bradford, the Craan River is the commercial lifeline of eastern Dreamshore. It also forms the border between the Farthingale Duchy and the Eastwalk Dutchy (with the headwaters of the Eastwalk River lying in the latter and Baile Craan officially lying in the former).

The Craan is navigable for most of its length, although in 237 AC a system of locks were completed near the capital to allow upriver traffic (where before they'd had to switch to land-bound transport about 10 miles downriver). It ranges from between 80 and 150 feet wide, with most of its length being ~20 feet deep. Fed by snowpack, it floods occasionally during the spring, but generally not badly or destructively.
