House Tywyll

Second-ranked of the High Houses of the gwerin in Western Noefra. By far the largest of the High Houses, with 25 adult members, it is also the most liberalized and accepting of the Houses. After the Exodus of the elves from Kaelthia to Crisial City, they chose to devote themselves to running the shipping trade along the southern and eastern sides of Lake Coy'in, something they, if not monopolized, at least dominated until the disruption at the Time of Troubles. They've diversified to owning shipping in the Sea of Dreams (on the Zhapai Karmap / Honedaxe run) as well as investing in over-land caravans along the Dragon and Coast roads.

Politics

Tywyll has long been a member of the Gardeners, but have tended toward political neutrality. As for national politics, they are internationalists, throwing their support (and massive wealth) behind those who advocate lowered trade barriers.

Core Membership

Housemaster: Father Geoff sur Twyll is young for a housemaster at only 110. He is also notably active in his House's internal politics. Said to have a fondness for human women. He has 3 full-blooded children (two daughters and a son), all of which are ship masters. He also has a substantial number of half-blood, sharp-ear children by a number of women, all said to be consensual and all of whom are acknowledged, albeit not actually of full status within the house (over his objections).

Matriarch: Aelia sur Twyll is Geoff's mother, an elderly woman at 170. She is rarely seen outside the house. Known to be at odds with Geoff over his dalliances.

First Staff: Warrani sur Twyll is Geoff's uncle. Notably, he's older than Geoff at 150 and showing signs of age-related deterioration. He and his staff handle the shipping business and mostly leave the house business to others, leading to an oddly decentralized House.
