Crystal Sphere

The Crystal Sphere is both the common name for the whole area of the Dream as well as for the barrier that surrounds the Dream and blocks access to and from the Dark Beyond. Located 2.0 AU from Eua, it is a spherical shell of some unknown, but immensely tough crystalline substance. Nothing material can pass through; the infectious thought forms of the Awakener can and do slip through, manifesting as red-purple hexagonal crystalline shards. These are tracked and destroyed by the angels as much as possible. Occasional fragments do reach Quartus, however, and infect the local wildlife until detected and destroyed.
