Barrier-Tooth
The Barrier-Tooth Islands are a chain of mixed volcanic and coral islands stretching along the northern coast of Soefra. There are 6 major islands (ranging from ~3000 sq mi to 6000 sq mi) and a multitude of small ones, some only a few hundred sq ft in area. The Primal Sea in this region is shallow and treacherous, with reefs, sand bars, and unexpected currents.
The islands are the home-land of the Sena'ka-dominated Ship Folk, and contain 3 of their 4 creches (vital to their reproduction, as they do not reproduce without aid). They have enslaved the other residents of these islands, making this the stronghold of those warlike people. Their Home Fleet patrols the waters, presenting a formidable barrier to anyone wishing to circumnavigate the continent or reach it from Noefra. Their influence extends across the Primal Sea, although as of 251 AC, there are signs of schism between the northern and southern fleets.
Main Islands
Vrol'ath
The largest island, as well as the most easterly, is Vrol'ath. Its name means "Dragon's Breath" in the local Sena'ka dialect. A volcanic island about 6,000 sq mi in extent, it has fertile soil and is one of the primary food production areas for the Ship Folk, with many slaves being worked to death every year to farm for supplies. It's said that a great red dragon slumbers in the volcano, but no one has been brave enough to venture there in recorded memory and no evidence of the dragon has emerged except via local legend.
Ap'eleth
Meaning "Shelter" in the Sena'ka dialect, this was the original landing spot of the Sena'ka who fled the Phoenix Empire and established their creches. This is "home port" for the Ship Folk. The entire island is off limits to any non-Sena'ka, and even most of them do not receive permission to land. Only the highest ranking or most notable get permission to add their genetic material to the creche there.
Kes'al
Northernmost of the large islands, this is the jumping off port for the fleet's northern operations. It bustles with activity and boasts a huge, well-protected deepwater port as well as one of the creches.
Pemak
Second largest of the islands, this volcanic island is also a major farming spot and boasts one of the creches.
The Twins
Two large islands separated by a shallow gap, the Twins are the westernmost of the large islands. While farming there is meaningful, these have been dedicated to slave breeding. These islands supply many of the trained, loyal slaves to the Ship Folk's insatiable appetite for disposable flesh.
