Elphas

A mortal of the very early 3rd Age, who ascended to goodhood as a patron of justice, rebirth, and the moons. Before his ascension, he and Nocthis were married and adventured together, although they differed tremendously in age. He ascended, she did not. But jealous of his power, she schemed to strip him of his power via arcane means (being a powerful mage) and stole the deific status from him, imprisoning him in a lava demiplane-prison for the next 4-5 thousand years. She ruthlessly suppressed any memory of his worship among his (now her) people and instituted a matriarchy.

He was released by Half Measures in 250 AC, and (much depowered, with only a single worshiper in his Ascendant state) he took up quiet residence in the Halfway House. He and Nocthis, now merely Ascendant herself, have reconciled at least partially, although their relationship is still uncertain and delicate. In fall of 251 AC, he accepted the request from Half Measures to be their chosen candidate to seek the Glacierheart and become the next lord of the Plane of Ice.

Personality

Quiet and reserved, Elphas comes across as hard to ruffle and merciful. He is not soft, and has no patience for demons or those who willingly do evil.

Appearance

Basically Gandalf the white, but golden blonde instead of white.
