Glasweil River

The Glasweil River forms the southern border of Dreamshore and the northern border of the Sea of Grass proper (although many consider the area north of the river to be part of the greater Sea of Grass region. Wide and lazy, it is shallow for most of its length. Prone to sand-bars, it has not been extensively dredged or made navigable to larger ships, although canoes and smaller keelboats can navigate most of the length (almost to the mouth of the Goldsnake) without needing portage.

On the north, the land slopes gently away from the river valley in rolling hills. To the south, the valley edge is a sharp cliff of limestone ranging from 10 to 80 feet high (in places) and the land is much more broken up. Further east, east of the Goldsnake, both sides rise in hills with some foresting.

The area around the Glasweil is only very lightly settled, mostly by pastoral sheep-and-cattle raising humans and more settled halfling clans...neither of which are particularly bound to any nation or very friendly toward outsiders.
