Heart of Iska kel Pana

An artifact dating to the Dawn War. Visually a large (over 10' across) crystal in the shape of a dragon's heart, it was the crystallized remains of the Watcher's mate, who perished in that primal conflict. Still bearing a trace of her soul in the form of a large cat-like being, the Heart was granted to the Cysgor as part of their Pact with Death. It resided at Lyo Duo, where it formed the link between the Watcher (and his Gleaners and their cat network) and the cysgor caretakers. In the days leading up to the fall of Lyo Duo, it was contaminated with both jotnar and awakener influence. While the cat-spirit fought to contain the influence, preventing its spread, this was the catalyst for the breaking of that Pact and the abandonment of Lyo Duo to the waste.

For over four millennia, the three forces warred for dominance. On 9 Autumn Dawning, 250 AC, Enigma arrived and, wielding angel-made technology, entered the mindscape inside the gem and defeated both demon and awakener influence, freeing the Heart. It returned to the Watcher's side.
