Isshin
Isshin is two (related) things.
Isshin the Multi-body Mind
Isshin was (a part of) the personal name of a mkhulu who came to Godsfall with the Army of Chaos but decided to break with the demons and demon-cults and forge his own society. Isshin's specialty was herding the "monsters" that served as auxiliary forces in the Army. Long a student of the Leviathan and its existence in multiple bodies, he replicated that in part. All the subterranean, burrowing creatures inside the warded city fell under his sway, becoming extensions of his body. Thus he existed, tunneling under Abaddon and Elysium for over 200 years. Outsiders were shunned and driven away from his territory, but he did not seek out trouble. In the end of his life, he and the Godsfall Champions reached an agreement--the champions would deal with the situation at the Tower of Maelek and Isshin would assist them in their fight against Shelob and the demons.
Soon afterward, his decrepit primary body died and his immortality was thwarted. However, a miracle occurred.
Isshin the Society
Within a short time (minutes) after the death of the being named Isshin, the mostly-mindless creatures that made up his body awoke to new sentience, gaining individual minds of their own. Together they've forged an underground society. In his memory and in memory of the pact he forged, they have allied with the above-ground residents of Godsfall. They still maintain their distance, but they trade the gems, metals, and treasures they dig up while tunneling endlessly under the city for surface products and worked materials.
