Mountain Road

The oldest and most well-maintained road in the former Council Lands, linking Kaelthia to Fuar Uulan. Fully surfaced for its entire length (at least as of 250 AC--intervening events may have disrupted portions in the Holy Kaelthian Republic) with proper drainage and side portions for sensitive hooves, broad enough for three fully-loaded iron wagons to move side by side, and lined at regular intervals with rest stops and waystations, it was the primary artery of trade from the western lands to Fuar Uulan and the mountain nations...until it was closed at the Uulan-HKR border with the New Year's War. The Uulani portion of the road is still well-patrolled, with regular parties to keep it clear of snow and obstructions. Access to the HKR portions is effectively disallowed, with border fortifications on both sides.
