Sat'psa Dara

As a phra, Dara was the highest-ranking of the four contenders for the throne. He was the natural son of Isal Balin, but by a concubine. This lesser birth, plus his unfriendly mien have handicapped him--without these he probably would have been the acknowledged heir by now. Isal Dara owned the largest and richest mines in the Stone Throne, located in the north-east section of the Southern District, making him legitimately very wealthy. Known for being equally harsh on commoners, Lai, and Isal alike, he does not have very many friends. He believes strongly in laws and order and enforces them with little mercy or favoritism. He is known for having a violent temper and physically abusing servants (and his family) in fits of rage. He is prone to drinking, which does not make his temper any better.

He had five wives, the other four having died either in childbirth or (some whisper) from abuse. She was a young (17) when they married, quiet, mousy woman who keeps to herself and keeps the household functioning. He has 3 living children (two girls and a boy). The boy, Isal Sat'psa Daraal has taken his place as phra and follows in his father's footsteps.

Demographic Information

A human male, he was short (5'3") and very powerfully-built (unusually so for a Fang-kin). His hair was mostly silver, and he shows stark splotches along the back of his neck and spine when he got angry (which was frequently). An army veteran, he stayed in fighting shape until the end of his life. Mechanically, he is a Knight (MM), wielding a silvered great-sword that once belonged to his father. He died in 237 AC of a lung infection.
