Nightlord

The earliest version of the vampire, the result of blending a jotnar with a powerful mortal. The ritual process to create a nightlord was created by Mage Lord Kiraleth vos Vielair, an aelvar mage lord during the early part of the Second Age. He and his kin underwent the ritual, becoming the dreaded nightlords. With their power they ruled over large swaths of the aelvar world until they were brought low by a concerted effort of almost every other aelvar and many infernals. They were not killed, as that could not happen fully without their true names and individual weaknesses. Instead they were imprisoned in elaborate traps held half-way between the Mortal plane and Shadow where they could not gather power. Over the next few millennia, the necessary names and weaknesses were discovered and all but two were eliminated. One of the two became Lloitira, one of the Demon Princes with the aid of Oro-laen; the other remained trapped until 250 AC when he was destroyed by Enigma. The details of the nightlord ritual have been intentionally obliterated over the centuries, being replaced by the much lesser rituals to create vampires.

Powers

Super ultra vampire. Dream manipulation. Drain energy just by being around. Immortality (like a lich, minus the phylactery). Vulnerable only to true name. Discomforted by sunlight, but not destroyed. Can enter buildings at will. All vampire powers, few limits.
