The capstone of 75 years of work by the nation of Wyrmhold, it blocks off the caldera side of the Last Resort Pass entirely, preventing raiding parties from bypassing the defenses in the pass and filtering into the mountains and down toward the inhabited areas. Started about 15 years after the start of the Winter War with the Hungering Frost with the foundation of the North Fort, it was steadily (and very slowly) expanded every year. Most of the heaviest battles of that war occurred in its immediate vicinity, often in the valley just caldera-ward of it. A final push to complete the wall happened in late 205 AC when Catalyst Kalesin led the dragonborn of the Council Lands to rejoin their kin. This final battle managed to throw back the Frost far enough to complete the wall, ending the major hostilities of the war.

A gigantic earth-and-stone truncated pyramid nearly 200' tall and 80' thick at the base at its thinnest point, it extends between a chain of forts. The top and caldera side are studded with artillery cutouts and embrasures; the interior has walkways and (at the inner side of the base) storage rooms and barracks. Behind the wall at the one gate is the major military encampment of the Wyrmhold military. Up the valley is the town of Frosthold, once the last outpost in friendly territory, now a staging point for traffic down the pass and out into the caldera.

Passage through the wall is controlled by the military, with merchants paying significant taxes and all first-time visitors being required to take an orientation class.
