The plane-bound, like the plane-touched, were born of mortal parents. In fact, many of them started their lives as -touched. But unlike the their -touched kindred, they have been chosen and transformed by the True Words at the heart of their chosen plane, as wielded by the Named of those planes. Their souls, their vital Sparks are bound and molded by True Words, making them a bridge between the chaotic growth of mortal-kind and the ordered stasis of the Named. They gain long life, but are not ageless. Generally, one of the -bound might live 10 or 15 times the lifespan of a normal mortal. They gain power according related to the plane to which they are bound. While they still can grow, this growth is tempered and stunted to a degree--their personalities and very essences are inexorably bound to the nature of the plane and the words.

The -bound are bound in a different way--to become -bound, you must be chosen and empowered by one of the Named, and a powerful one at that. This binds you to that Named's nature as well, and to their will to some degree. Like most things, being -bound is a double-edged sword.

The residents of the Shadows and the Astral rarely make plane-bound, but it is not unknown. There are some philosophers that believe that advanced druidic practitioners, with their vastly extended lifespans, are the nearest thing to Mortal-bound.
