The ruling organization of the Plane of Lava, with influence outside that plane.

Creed

  1. The strong give order and purpose to the lives of the weak. Strength is proven by challenge and combat.
  2. The weak are protected by the strong to the degree that they obey and are shaped by the order imposed by the strong.
  3. Alastor, World Judge is the strongest there is. Thus, he provides the ultimate order for everything.
  4. Strength must be constantly tested and refined. The slag and dross must meet the test of the refiner's fire and be purged.
  5. Order is virtue. All that is good is given purpose by the strong; being a cog in the machine or even a slave is honorable if you have not the strength to be more.
  6. Disorder and waste is sin. That which is not fit for its purpose must be discarded, given to the flame to be consumed as fuel.
  7. The role of the cult is to perform Alastor's will, to preserve His order in society. Personal ambition only is valuable if it means meeting those needs more effectively. Personality is to be suppressed as much as possible--you are replaceable cogs.

Hierarchy

Masked Judges

At the top of the hierarchy are the Masked Judges. These entities (generally vulkate in appearance) dress in white hooded cloaks, enchanted to never get dirty. Their faces are covered by masks carved to look like a dragon's face--they never reveal their faces in public. However, the arms of the cloaks are bare, revealing arms covered in markings similar to words. These glow when the Judge is wielding his power.

The Masked speak with Alastor's voice, quite literally. They rarely, if ever, show any signs of personality. They are vessels of the wyrm's power, conduits for him to look out and act on the world, ways for him to be in many places at once. They are his Hands. Their word is absolute law, at least on the Plane of Lava and other places where the cult holds power.

Mechanist Priests

The regular priests have the title "Mechanist"--they are those that keep the great machine of society humming along smoothly and efficiently. They are all lava-bound, and self-effacing. The intent is that any mechanist-priest is identical to any other mechanist-priest of the same rank.

Lava-fist

The lava-fists are the enforcers. The bully-boys, the soldiers, the body-guards. And they are brutal.
