Coralweave

A silk-like textile made from the fibers of the underwater plant known as kelp-thistle, which is then alchemically treated. Known for being similar to a rough silk (roughly 19-25 Momme), but naturally waterproof. Unlike silk, its natural color is a reddish color (hence the name). In Ikela, it is produced primarily in the Kal'Mer region by the kalasaa and constitutes the major export of that area. It takes enchantments related to water extremely well.

Game Mechanics

Availability: Uncommon in Ikela and other heavily-aquatic regions, extremely rare elsewhere.

Cost: It sells for about 15gp per yard (sold in 48" bolts) or 1500 gp per bolt (100 cloth yards).

Effect: Clothing and items made with coralweave are naturally waterproof. Any enchantment related to water costs half as much to apply.
