Red Hand

From Dreams of Hope

A C-rank adventuring group associated with Serpentstrike.

Their final client was True Hold; their orders were to prevent a port from being constructed in Honedaxe without bloodshed and without drawing attention on True Hold. Destruction of property is fine, but they are to avoid killing innocents. They will break these orders to defend themselves from other adventurers if pressed, but will try to retreat outside of town first.

Members:

Gunnloda Badmergh-Laav
Guunloda is the town priest (he replaced the original priest who had an unrelated accident; the Red Hand bought off the assigned priest). He's been stirring up discontent and subtly been impeding any search for the real culprits. He officially blames all the troubles on lack of faith. Although he's supposed to be a priest of the Four Seasons, he secretly worships Kela Loran (the Coinspinner). Of the group, he's the team mom. He and Aodh are married. Cynical and bitter.
Aodh Laav-Badmergh
Aodh is the acting militia head and chief of the guards. She's been muddying the evidence and misdirecting search parties. She's got a temper and goes into rage in battle. She's direct and to the point. Of the three, she's the least evil.
Quelanna il Amastacia
Quelanna is the trader's representative (or is really impersonating the real one). Her illusion magic is mostly used for defense and misdirection. She's also a talented forger. She's been forging orders and creating most of the disruption. Her status as a caster is not known--she doesn't cast in public. She's the face of the group. Hardened by life in Tarad'am. She uses sex as a weapon but is cold.

They are not responsible for the psychological effects (the lassitude) or the damage to nets and ships or the raids on caravans. They've been working to prevent inquiry into these, as it aids their cause anyway. They're aware of Joseph Wildwood and his Silver Ravens, but haven't made contact (preferring to keep their cover intact).

After being discovered in Honedaxe and forced to flee, Gunnloda and Aodh joined Joseph Wildwood in his attack on Baron Sumpter and were stopped and captured by Enigma, who were coincidentally present at the time of the attack. They were executed for treason and murder. Quelanna did not participate in that event and is still on the lam, hiding from Serpentstrike enforcers.
