Scaeva Tower

From Dreams of Hope

A mage tower in the (ruined) city of Scaeva, located on the edge of the Fiach Wood about a day south of Mar'osh's borders and two days east of Wyrmhold's boundaries. Rebuilt about 30 years ago by EsJay vo'Gal, an exiled Wyrmhold conjurer and artificer. It served as his base of operations and home for his apprentices/slaves until his death in late spring 252 AC. After his death, the tower has been occupied by a team of Selan's Seekers and others.

The tower consists of four above-ground levels and two underground levels, plus a covered roof.

Above Ground

The ground floor is devoted to apprentice quarters, kitchen and dining facilities, and a public office.

The second floor has three larger quarters, once occupied by devils bound to EsJay's service, as well as a common lounge area.

The third floor was EsJay's private library and study. Only those escorted by the mage himself were allowed to this level and beyond.

The fourth floor was EsJay's living quarters.

The roof held a permanent teleportation circle. It has a gazebo roof, but no sides.

Below Ground

The first basement was a manufactory for devil-empowered constructs.

The second basement was a combination of storage and summoning chambers, where arcane-talented children were imprisoned and forced to give their life-force and wear away at their souls summoning/binding fragments of lucian entities into containers to serve as the motive force for constructs.
