Shield River

From Dreams of Hope

The southern major tributary of the Kaela River. Its heads lie near Tysh (for the North Fork) and under the peaks west of Fuar Uulan (for the South Fork). Steeper and more rapid than the Glasweil River, it is only navigable for barges and shipping for about 100 miles up from its mouth before encountering a series of cataracts and waterfalls. The last ferry across it lies at Shieldford, about 30 miles due east of Lowbridge.
