Capital of Wyrmhold and pre-Cataclysm holy city for dragonborn. Refuge for post-Hungering Frost-assault Wyrmhold.
Located at the base of Last Resort Pass, the only significant way out of the Nocthian Caldera to the eastern lands, Lyodnoir is a heavily-fortified city. Controlled by Clan Gal, it is the bottleneck that connects the newly-settled lands in the Kairen Mountains and Nocthian Caldera to the fertile fields of Safehold, the rich forests of Baile Duchas, and the industrial might of Byarmarsh. As such, it has become a very rich city despite being low in population compared to the other national capitals.
