If the essence of a Primordial, like any immortal being, is their True Name, the thing that defines them and prescribes their existence and the thing that allows such beings to be summoned from the other planes...how could the Nameless truly be without name and yet be able to be summoned? And yet exist? --Jaern of Stars, ca 52 AC, recorded in On Names and Natures.
One of the original Primordials, the Nameless embodied change and growth. For reasons unknown (although likely linked to the Awakener), the Nameless and those that followed it rebelled before the creation of the world was finished. The resulting conflict, the Dawn War, ended with the imprisonment of the Nameless and his chief lieutenants, the Broken Concepts, in the Abyss and the present ordering of the planes. His lesser followers were banished to the newly-formed Mortal plane; some were further confined into Aenimos (Echidra and her brood) or Perdatos (those followers most warped by the unchecked energies of chaos).
The Nameless was summoned into the Mortal world in 1 BC by a power-seeking wizard, who was promptly subsumed by that ancient entity, now maddened by his aeon-long imprisonment in the void of the Abyss. The Nameless, now embodied, gathered all the "evil" races and swept over Noefra like a devouring wave. This conflict, the Cataclysm War, ended when the Divine Three detonated the Left Eye of Qa'desh; in the resulting planar realignment, the other Primordials, incarnated in response to its awakening, sacrificed themselves using the Fangs of Resolution. Their sacrifice wrought a change that accepted the Nameless (and the essence of change and freedom) into the universe, completing the work of creation and bringing the Dawn War to a final close. As a consequence, all beings now have free will. Some of the Broken Concepts still remain imprisoned; others joined the Nameless in his anmesty.
